Phylogenetic analysis is the study of evolutionary relationships among molecules, phenotypes, and organisms [1]. Through the analysis of protein sequences, evolutionary history and change of proteins and their function can be tracked, which allows scientists to gain an insight into the construction of gene families, prediction of gene function, gene discovery, and more. Phylogenetic trees are constructed to provide a visualisation of the evolutionary history and historical relationships of groups of organisms or genes(figure 1)
